5 Riding Levels

Level

Suitable for

Conditions

1

Everyone. No previous dirt road experience necessary. Undulating gravel roads & packed dirt.

2

Competent and confident ascending, descending and steering on loose surfaces. Moderate inclines, loose gravel, dry riverbeds, small rocks & sandy patches.

3

Competent and confident at slow speeds. Those with trail riding experience.
Level 2 Off-road school graduates.
Returning Level 2 guests.
Steep & loose gradients, mud, ruts, water crossings, rock slab & sandy patches.

4

Regular trail riders. Level 2 Off-road school graduates. Returning

Level 2 & 3 guests.

Steep & loose gradients, mud, ruts, water crossings, rock slab & long sections of sand. Generally longer days with more dirt.

5

Those prepared to tackle the unexpected. Long days, wild camping.  Sense of humour essential! We don’t know what lies beyond a black hole so anything can happen.Generally reserved for route recce’s.
Riding levels are relative. We organise adventure bike tours for adventure bike riders, NOT hardcore enduros. Our riding levels are based on heavy adventure bikes and not lightweight dirt bikes.
